Want to “rough it” but not too rough? Enjoy 5 quiet acres on the Sabinal River just north of Utopia TX. Our cozy 1-room Bunkhouse has one queen bed and a full/twin bunk bed for up to 5 guests. There is a flat-screen TV, DVD/Blue-Ray player, and Netflix (no cable or antenna TV). Wi-fi reaches to the Bunkhouse and is also around our main cabin. The kitchenette includes a sink, mini-fridge, microwave, hotplate, dinnerware, as well as a table and chairs. The bunkhouse has a window AC, 2 ceiling fans, and a portable radiant heater for those colder nights. The Bath House is just a few steps away and is connected to the Bunkhouse via a short ramp (don’t worry, it is much nicer than an outhouse!). The charcoal/wood BBQ grill is just outside the Bunkhouse, and there is a fire pit in front (please observe county burn bans and windy conditions). Pets welcome with a fee (please clean up after your pet.)
If we have had enough rain, the crystal clear, spring fed Sabinal River is flowing at the southern edge of our property. It is mostly shallow, so it is perfect for kids, but there is a 5 foot deep hole as well. And it is very private.
Enjoy the quiet at night and dark skies for stargazing or watching bats catching their dinner. You may also see axis and whitetail deer crossing through the front part of our property as well as the occasional turkey. Hear rustling nearby? It is probably an armadillo digging for food. Hawks and owls are also out, so guard your small pets!
The town of Utopia is less than 10 minutes away and has a general store (groceries), a hardware store, a convenience store with gas and ice, and the famous Lost Maples Cafe. Utopia Park has a lake where you can fish or swim (small fee required). Utopia Golf Course is just outside Utopia heading south as well as the Laurel Tree restaurant (if you want to class things up!) Lost Maples State Park is just 10 minutes away and has nature trails and the Sabinal River flowing through it (take plenty of water if you are going to hike the rim). Garner State Park is about 40 minutes away.

Cypress Hollow Cabin is also on the property and can be rented together for larger groups.
